Banner standards are very important. Only this way the banners fit into the banner slots.

The US has special standards, e.g. there should be some moove banners for these formats.

The load size is very important. Professional banners on other websites often have a maximum limit of 20 KB.
Some sites reject animated banners or have rules related to the frequency, for instance:

1. It's 468 pixels wide by 60 pixels tall
2. It's in GIF format (no JPEGs please!)
3. It's non-transparent
4. It's less than 10K in file size (10240 bytes)
5. If it's animated, the animation stops at 7 seconds and does not include loops

OF course these are only recommendations - most important for moove online banners is the graphical impression.
